It has to be the former because why would you effectively neuter one of your players most effective weapon on the offense. I dunno it just doesn’t make sense otherwise.
Scott bleeds purple and gold. Lin’s pick and roll has been too effective these days which is why Scott told him to cut back. Scott will do anything to keep that pick.
This is what has me confused about his coaching. Like, look at the other teams in the league. No one else actually makes me wonder if they’re throwing games on purpose through shitty rotations and playcalling.
Lin’s on the last year of his contract, maybe he doesn’t think he’ll stay with the team. (Or he’s hurting his value so that he will stay with the team but that’s more silly and malicious)
As much as I love how Lin has improved on pick and rolls situation when given a chance this year, I want that draft pick.
“Jeremy, you need to not play as good and stuff.”
“Hey remember when I hit you with all those DNP CD even though you were obviously our best guard after Kobe? Ok. Well stop doing what works and listen to me even though I’m a combined like 20-500 in my last few coaching stints. Also no 3s.”
Imagine how good the Lakers could have been if they played P&R FROM the beginning
alot of our games were close, if we weren’t tanking i’d say we’d be outside of playoff like the suns
I find it funny that oftentimes, when Lin and Davis get rolling in the PnR, Scott subs one of them effectively killing the Lakers’ momentum.
Ed Davis had been shooting 73.9%(!) during those 7 games that Lin played with the ball in his hands a lot running the endless pnrs.
Byron Scott is going to singlehandedly make Jeremy Lin hate basketball for the rest of his life.
I thought it was kind of strange that Lin wasn’t running the P&R on almost every play and running the ISO and curls instead in the Memphis game.
I can’t figure out why would BS want Lin to stop doing/cutback on something that was so effective at either getting Lin points or open shots for his teammates.
Yeah. Lin’s pick and roll game is too effective for the tank. Gotta dial it down.
Lol are people still surprised at the fact that the Lakers are taking? Byron is in on it guys. He may or may not be a good coach, but he’s here this season to take blame, be ridiculed, and ruining any chance of getting hired as a head coach ever again. That in itself is pretty honorable.
That being said, we need to give Byron the Tomjanovich treatment if Thibs becomes available over the Summer.
